Route description

From the Heizwerk ski touring car park in Alpendorf, the route heads up the first section steeply along the left edge of the piste. Following the piste edge, you reach Hotel Stern in sight. From here, the route continues along the marked ski touring route on the left side of the piste towards Kreistenalm.

At Kreistenalm, cross the ski run and continue uphill on the left past the Gernkogelbahn mountain station, following the signs towards Obergaßalm. The route leads along the edge of the alpine meadow, with a short descent towards the button lift. Following the lift track, you climb along the far right edge of the piste – past Hubertus Chapel – to the Gernkogel.

Tickets

Ascent along the designated ascent routes is permitted during the posted piste opening hours with a ski pass valid on the day of use. In addition to regular ski passes, special touring tickets can be purchased in the Online Ticketshop. The valid ticket must be carried during the ascent and shown during checks by Snow Space staff.
