Built in 2010 according to plans by Kuehn Malvezzi, it is located right next to the meadows where the horses of the Wetzlgut graze in summer, hence the name »Rossalm«. We fulfill our wish to cook “everyone’s favorite dish” with a fine selection of seasonal delicacies with regionally sustainably produced basic products.
In winter we serve Austrian delicacies for lunch. In the evening we will be happy to spoil you with a candle light dinner! The Rossalm is excellent with a fork in the Falstaff! In winter we offer ice climbing at the sparkling blue icy-waterfalls in Gastein. The legendary ice-drops like Mordor, Supervisor or the glas palace are to choose from.
With the Valley Guiding we offer guided hiking tours in Gastein Valley, Alpine tours at 3000 meters, climbing tours and via ferratas. A special insider tipp are the "Secret Trails", almost forgotten. The legendary paths and tracks lead deep into the center of the National Park Hohe Tauern. Including ascending the Bocksteinkogel or the Tischlerspitze.
Only a few know the path – especially because it is necessary to use a rope and a safety for the ascent.

In the middle of a breathtaking mountain world at 1,870 m – at the mountain station of the Tauern cable car – you can indulge yourself in the TOMiziel with regional specialties and a unique sun terrace including a view of the Dachstein.
The TOMiziel belongs to the AlmSkihütten and is one of a total of 15 skihuts on the Hauser Kaibling. One look says more than 1,000 words! Just looking at the umbrella bar it quickly becomes clear that you just have to stop here. Wood and glass dominate the architectural design, which fits perfectly into the ambience on the mountain and combines alpine lifestyle with a touch of modernity. The all-round glazing of the TOMiziel enables a 360-degree view of the breathtaking mountains.
The culinary offer spans a wide range, from hearty mountain breakfasts to piste burgers or Hüttengröstl to classics such as Kaiserschmarren or yeast dumplings.
Living in the Berggasthof Scharfetter
Experience the charm of the mountain rooms in summer as well as winter and relax at 1,800 m above sea level in the Berggasthof Scharfetter. No winter holiday is complete without trying an exciting toboggan ride, which is sure to bring back some fond childhood memories! What could be more beautiful, after all, than hurtling down the snowy winter landscape through the forest and into the valley?
The 2.5-kilometre long natural toboggan run is ideally maintained. Night owls will also be able to have their fun – with the toboggan run and walking route lit in the evening!
The Landgasthof Bertahof in Bad Hofgastein has been located amidst the old trees and in the heart of the Gastein Valley for over 350 years. This family-run and cozy restaurant has an extraordinary reputation! Enjoy and feel good: that is the maxim for Bertahof guests.
The Bertahof is listed in Gault Millau and has received the award "very good cuisine that offers more than the everyday" since 2009.
Above all, the lamb, mostly from our own breeding, or the fresh fish from our own pond, make a visit to the Bertahof a culinary experience. Chef Robert Granitzer only uses fresh, seasonal products from the region.
