Adventures and experiences for young and old

► Sheep experience: 800 woolly companions all over the mountain.
► Petting zoo: Experience cuddly moments with sheep, lambs, ponies, goats, rabbits and much more at 1,400 metres above sea level.
► Water Zorbing: Walk across the water in giant water balls - without getting wet.
► Paddle boats: Simply turn the hand cranks and you're off across the water forwards, backwards or in bends.
► Sheep's pond: with sheep climbing trail, sheep jumping, sheep whispering, barefoot path and much more.
Children's adventure trail: puzzle and discovery fun for children on the circular trail from the transmitter plateau to the Kaiblingalm and back again. Suitable for pushchairs.
► Playgrounds: Eventful play equipment provides lots of fun.
► Paragliding: Discover the mountain from above.

Family adventure on the Hauser Kaibling

The pleasure mountain for the whole family

The Hauser Kaibling, the highest mountain in the Schladming 4-mountain ski area, is not only a highlight in winter, but also a paradise for families in summer. Here, breathtaking nature, animal experiences and action-packed adventures meet culinary delights.

More than 800 sheep romp around the Hauser Kaibling. A petting zoo, the children's adventure trail, the Schafsinn pond with sheep climbing trail, Schafsinn barefoot trail and much more on the theme of sheep await you. Adventurous playgrounds, themed hiking trails for young and old, wonderful e-bike tours, water zorbing and much more lure visitors to lofty heights. Legendary viewpoints, such as from the summit at 2,015 metres, as well as culinary delights in the summer huts guarantee an enjoyable and relaxing mountain experience.

Hike & Bike

In summer, many hikers and families are drawn to the Hauser Kaibling, where adventure and relaxation come together in equal measure. Whether hiking, (e-)mountain biking, paragliding or mountaineering - there is plenty for young and old to discover here. A holiday full of experiences and adventures awaits families in particular. The impressive view from the summit at 2,015 metres and the regional delicacies in our summer huts, such as Ennstal lamb specialities, provide the perfect end to an eventful day.

Culinary delights on the mountain

There is a lot to experience on the Hauser Kaibling, so a cozy stop should not be missing. A rest in the beautiful summer alpine huts on the Hauser Kaibling will reward you with tasty Styrian dishes and a fantastic view of the Dachstein massif and the beautiful Ennstal.

Hiking offers:
What a hiking paradise! From the Schafsinn circular trail with breathtaking views to the pram-friendly adventure trail in the Kaiblingalm natural jewel to the multi-hour summit tour to the Höchstein, everything is included. Recommended: Almrauschblüten hike via the Schafsinn circular trail to the idyllic Moaralmsee lake.

  • Long Schafsinn circular trail with a wonderful panorama (2.5h)
  • Short Schafsinn circular trail suitable for pushchairs (1.5h)

Starting point for beautiful hikes: e.g. Hauser Kaibling summit 2,015m as the highest point of the Schladming 4-mountain ski area (direct 30min, circular trail 2h); high-altitude hike to the natural jewel Moaralmsee (1h45min), Bärfallspitze (2h) and Höchstein summit tour (3h).

E-mountainbike tours:
The Hauser Kaibling offers fantastic e-bike tours for all skill levels. Our tip for families: the breathtakingly beautiful and easy descents of the Gumpental circuit followed by a ride to the idyllic ‘Styrian Bodensee’. The 8-seater gondola lift takes you and your bike to the middle station, where all (e-)bike tours start. State-of-the-art e-bikes for the whole family can be hired at the valley station of the 8-seater gondola lift.

For the whole family: Gumpentalrunde (14 km, a pleasure even without an e-bike)
Extensive tours: Krummholz circuit (21 km), Aich circuit (32 km), Kaibling circuit (36 km) and Fünf Berge circuit (61 km)

Free charging stations for e-bikes on the mountain

NOTE: Due to the construction of a new cable car system in summer 2025, there may be partial route diversions or closures, so that certain paths are not accessible or passable as usual. Please follow the signposting on site.
